The March Release
Two new paintings exploring courage, transformation, and the spiritual journey through colour and form.
Dear Friend,
February has come, and gone, with its personal highs and lows. I have a quiet sense that something in my creative practice is beginning to shift.
I’m very happy to share that my March body of work is now available, including two finished pieces that feel particularly meaningful in this moment of my creative journey.
This month began with real momentum in the studio. I was deep in the process of developing several new pieces, following threads of colour and movement that felt both familiar and new. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Our household was hit by a rather unpleasant stomach virus that swept through everyone (except my son) and kept me out of the studio for a full week.
At first I felt frustrated. When you’re in a creative flow, stepping away can feel like losing the thread entirely.
But something interesting happened during that pause.
When I returned to the studio, the work felt different, because I felt different about my work. More connected, fonder, perhaps more forgiving. As though something had been quietly evolving beneath the surface in those few years of not painting, had finally started to bloom. My process has started to feel more fulfilling, and I noticed subtle shifts in how the paintings were forming.
It seems that, just like in the natural world, even during the dormant moments, the work continues to grow.
The subject of my work remains constant:
the inquiry into the self,
the unfolding of the spiritual journey,
and the attempt to express emotion through colour, texture, and form.
Painting, for me, is less about producing an image and more about following a question. Each canvas becomes a place to explore courage, doubt, transformation, and the quiet inner landscapes we all travel through.
From this month’s work, I’m delighted to share two finished pieces:
Remain Brave & Strong
and
Be Prepared to Leap
Both paintings feel like companions in a way. They speak to the moments in life where we are asked to trust ourselves—to stay steady when things feel uncertain, and to move forward even when the next step isn’t entirely clear.
Perhaps that is why they emerged now.
Acquisition
These works are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If one of these pieces speaks to you and you would like to acquire it, you are very welcome to reply directly to this email, or visit the link below to view the growing 2026 collection and complete your purchase.
If you would like additional images, details, or shipping information, I am always happy to provide them.
A quiet thank you
If you are reading this, thank you for being here.
Building a sustainable art practice takes patience, persistence, and a willingness to keep showing up even through periods of doubt. Your presence - reading these updates, sharing the work, collecting pieces, or simply following the journey - makes it possible for me to continue developing this body of work with focus and integrity.
And if we’re not yet connected on Instagram, I’d love to welcome you there as well. It’s where I share glimpses of the studio, works in progress, and the evolving series as it unfolds throughout the year.
I’m always curious to see where the paintings travel and the homes they eventually find.
Until next time, thank you for walking alongside this creative journey.
Warmly,
Johanna
